Water
Water is fundamental to development, and ensuring access to it even in times of drought, flooding, or other shocks that may threaten the clean water supply is an essential part of strengthening resilience.

Equitable access to clean water is becoming one of the most pressing issues of the twenty-first century. Shifting weather patterns and increasingly frequent and intense natural hazards threaten already underdeveloped water and sanitation systems, often leading to widespread disease in the wake of floods and other natural disasters. Conflict fueled in part by unequal access to water contributes to food insecurity, poor nutrition, and health crises. Water is fundamental to development, and ensuring access to it even in times of drought, flooding, or other shocks that may threaten the clean water supply is an essential part of strengthening resilience.
